Ghost League Rules (Rev. 03/14/09)

1. This is a 20 week league, beginning Monday, April 6th.

  • League member will play 9 holes each week, anytime Monday through Thursday, alternating each week between the front and back nine, starting with the front nine first week, back nine 2nd week, etc.
  •  
  • Score cards will be picked up on Friday afternoons so any play AFTER Thursday can only apply to the following week.
  • Members may golf by themselves, with other league members, or with non- league players. Weekend and holiday play for the Ghost league is discouraged, but is allowed.
  • REGULAR COURSE RATES will apply.
  • You may play more than once a week, but only the lowest round turned in will count. (If you score higher but with more pars & birds, you get the lower score, not the extra pars & birds, unless you let me know you want it scored differently )

2. Be sure to place your score card into the Ghost League file tray in the clubhouse prior to leaving the course.

  • Be sure the FULL NAME of all league players are listed, scores and names are legible, with the date played clearly marked.
  • Please mark any pars with a circle, Birds with a square, and mark through (cross out) any non-league players on your card.

3. If you played last year (2008) your ending average will be used for determining weekly averages for the first 3 weeks of play. 

  • For new members, your actual 3-week average will be used. 
  • After the first 3 weeks of play, handicaps will be calculated by dividing member's accumulated scores by the total number of matches played.

4. Random "GHOST" draws will determine opponents for the week.

  • Ten (10) points will be awarded to the winner of the match.
  • Ties result in five (5) points each.
  • One (1) point will be awarded for each par,
  • Two (2) points for each birdie, 
  • Four (4) points for each eagle, 
  • Eight (8) points for any hole in one.
  • Three (3) points are given to all that score under their gross average.

5. If an uneven number of players participate in any week, the last player drawn will be awarded 10 points as long as he or she scores UNDER his or her average, 5 points if the average is matched, no points if score is above his/her average.

6. $15.00 membership dues are to be turned into the pro shop before April 14th. Full account of income and expenses for prizes and end of season banquet will be given.

7. If you plan to be out of town, you may play EARLY (the previous week) and turn in a score card CLEARLY MARKED to indicate which week it applies to.

8. A winner will be determined for the first half (10 weeks) and 2nd half (10 weeks) and there will be a play-off between the two winners to determine a league Champion. Prizes will be awarded at the season ending banquet to be held at Mountian Gate (Date will be posted at season’s end, Banquet is normally early September on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening)

9. Greens fees will be $15.50 per 9 holes, cart fees included. When using a power cart, please obey all course rules regarding any cart path restrictions.

10. Senior men (60 or older) MAY play from the gold tees if they choose to. Ladies MAY play from the red tees if they choose to. All other able bodied men MUST play from the white tees. But once the league begins, please keep playing from the same tee markers for the entire season. (If you are a scratch golfer or a pro, please choose to play from the blue tees to help level the playing field a bit - thanks)
